Suzie Mac Needs Your Help!
Cornish singer/songwriter Suzie Mac needs your help to fund treatment for a rare, baffling, and debilitating medical condition
The Members of Suzies band, Martin, Andy, Scott, Adam, Mike and Paul have got behind the Cornish singer to help fund her expensive yet vital medical bills after Suzie contracted a very rare and debilitating medical condition.
A Cornish Sweetheart
Suzie Mac, born in Looe, South East Cornwall has been been living with a very rare, baffling and severely debilitating medical condition since suffering a near fatal anaphylactic shock just over a year ago.
After lots of testing, Suzie was diagnosed with vitamin B12 deficiency, but it was clear that this diagnosis was masking some more serious issues. Susie's body started to shut down after the shock and Miss Mac now suffers from extreme pain, severe memory loss, paralysis, breathing difficulties, muscle weakness and extreme exhaustion to name but a few of her symptoms.
Extensive Medical Testing
Suzie has undergone extensive medical testing and after several MRI scans, a lumbar puncture, an endoscopy, seemingly endless blood tests and consultations, doctors are currently at a loss as to what the condition is and what to do next.
Currently, the only thing keeping Suzie going are several Vitamin B12 injections a day, which Suize administers herself. Generally, a B12 deficiency can be overcome by simply loading your body up with supplements, however, Susie's body has the inability to absorb B12 and these injection may be a reality for the rest of her life.
Suzie had to make a tough decision recently, having to cut down her band down to a duo. This was the last thing she wanted to do as music is her life. This was a vital move in order for Suzie to be able to pay her ever mounting medical bills and day to day living costs. This is an extremely upsetting situation and this could not have come at a worse time. With lots of music business interest, american tours being arranged, and an album in the making, Suzie is at a crossroads in her career and her life. This is why the band has stepped in and this is why we need your help to get Suzie back to health and keep her singing and bringing her beautiful music to the world.
Anyone that knows Suzie will tell you that she finds it's hard to be open about these sorts of issues and I can only begin to imagine what worry, fear and dread hides behind that beautiful, infectious smile and giggly personality we all know and love.
Suzie feels that is is now time to reach out and the band have set up a crowdfunding campaign to help support Suzie, her music and most importantly the search for specialists and research to help fight her baffling, and crippling medical condition. Please take the time to read the Crowdfunding campaign to find out more about Suzie and her fight to find a solution to her condition. Anything you can donate, no matter how small, will go such a long way in supporting our darling Suzie. Please share far and wide and lets help our beloved Suzie conquer this and get her back to health.
The initial Crowdfunding target of £2000 has been reached and in double quick time too. Suzie is overwhelmed by the amount of support she has received from friends, family and complete strangers. However, this is just the start and much, much more money needs to be raised in this fight. Your support is greatly appreciated not just by Suzie, but her friends, family and everyone who knows her and her music.
Always helping others
Suzie is one of the most unselfish, thoughtful, kind, warm hearted and outgoing people I know and works tirelessly to help and support others. Over the past two winters, Suzie has worked with many musicians to create winter albums, entitled Winter Solace, to help support the elderly and the homeless.
Please Hold Suzie's Hand
A Suzie Mac original on 2016s Winter Solace album is entitled 'Please Hold My Hand'. This is such a beautifully emotive song and delivers a very powerful message about being there and looking out for each other during hard times. Those words are so poignant right now and describe Suzie's situation perfectly and it's now our time to Hold Suzie's Hand during her struggles.
Suzie, you are not alone, we will hold your hand and support you through this.
Suzie has said she might have found the right person in America. She said: "There is a guy in the States, New York I think, who has done all sorts of research so I'm trying to get in touch with him. "It looks like they have found more there. I am looking for a real life Doctor House (from the TV show)."
